Exciting Solar Farm News for Atlantic Renewables

Although this solar farm is not our first commercial install, we are extremely excited to be on board with such a large scale project. The system is made up of 600 250W polycrystalline ET solar solar panels, which will all be ground mounted, and Araura Power One (now known as ABB) inverters. The ground mounting system will be mounted on piles which will be pile driven into the ground. 

The agricultural area in which the solar farm will be installed is classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which we initially thought would mean planning permission would not be available on the land. However, our expert in house planning team managed to gain planning permission for the solar farm as well as completing the grid connection application with the Distribution Network Operation (DNO). This demonstrates the increasing support that solar is gaining, and at Atlantic Renewables we are proud to be a part of the growing number of solar farms in the UK.
