Working with Atlantic Renewables
At Atlantic Renewables, we’re passionate about helping the environment and our customers at the same time - it’s at the very core of what we do as a solar company. We work with M&E Consultants on a variety of projects, from solar panels for commercial buildings, to industrial solar panel installations. We help consultants help their clients take a ‘greener’ approach to energy every single day.
Researching to find the right company to work with can be difficult. This is why we like to make sure that working with us is as easy and efficient as possible. Each project we work on is tailored specifically to our client’s needs, ensuring that they’re as happy with our service as they are with their new installation.
Project management
Due to the nature of our industry, we work with a wide range of different professionals from roofers, to engineers, to M&E Consultants. We have a wealth of knowledge and a team of dedicated, expert solar electricians. We ensure that there is a strong collaboration between all involved with the project right from the beginning through to the very end of our work. Our clients and other professionals within the multidisciplinary team are kept informed during all stages and we’re always available to answer any questions.
We also have strong relationships with other organisations that require collaboration. For example, we will need to organise connecting the solar power system to network distribution operators (DNOs/IDNOs). This is a process which can take as long as 12 weeks, however, as we are experts in this field, we commence the process as early as possible to avoid delays later down the line.
CAD Drawings
We can provide CAD drawings which will integrate the solar panel arrangement with the architect’s roof design to see exactly how the panels are attached to the building. This will illuminate any potential issues such as clashes with walkways and cable penetrations. It will also help ensure the panels don’t negatively impact the building’s structural integrity.
Although there are many CAD experts out there, it’s important to select someone working in the field of renewable energy. They need to have this specific expertise to help you and your clients make the most of their investment.
Electrical Schematics
We’ll also supply electrical schematics. This is so that you’re not only ensured of the building’s structural integrity, but also the safe and secure wiring of the building’s electrical infrastructure.
We’ll present exactly how the panels will be wired into the rest of the building, so everything is safely planned out and then executed. We can even give advice on integration with other pieces of technology like EV charging systems if needed.
SBEM Calculations
If the project you’re working on requires SBEM calculations under the L2 Building Regulations, we can help. Although we don’t carry out the calculations ourselves, we can easily help you comply with the Simplified Building Energy Model. Our expert knowledge of this area will mean that we can avoid delays and make sure things operate smoothly.
Structural/wind load calculations
As part of working with Atlantic Renewables, we complete an assessment of each building and undertake both structural and wind calculations. These help ensure the design we develop will support the stability of your client’s roof for many years to come.
The Code for Sustainable Homes & Part L (1A) of the Building Regulations
We’re well-accustomed to working with Level 6 of the UK Code for Sustainable Homes/Part L (1A) Building Regulations. We help guide consultants through the process of implementing sustainable energy on a daily basis.
We help M&E consultants comply with all kinds of statutory regulations. This includes considering the carbon intensities of all energy options in order to allow your clients to make an informed decision for implementation.
If you have any questions about this process, get in touch with us.
BREEAM
Your need (and requirement) to utilise an environmental assessment method will not be limited by working with us.
As mentioned above, we can offer you support with CAD designs and also generation forecasts in order to achieve a positive BREEAM rating. Some example projects of how we’ve assisted with the use of BREEAM can be seen on our homepage. If you have any specific questions, give us a call for a friendly chat.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) and renewable energy
BIM is known for being at the forefront of construction. However, many people don’t realise its crucial involvement with renewable energy. The use of BIM allows our team to collaborate better together, maintain the highest level of accuracy and efficiency possible, reduce errors and so on. Using technology like BIM means that we can ensure that every single project is tailored specifically to our clients’ needs in order to enhance the systems’ performance.
Although it’s important to implement best practice energy solutions that are environmentally friendly, it’s equally as important to ensure the implementation process is sustainable in itself. There are many environmental benefits to using BIM throughout the design, construction and operations processes. For example, it enables a clear understanding of what is needed before the need to purchase materials that may later be wasted.
MCS & SSiP Accreditation
We are SSiP Accredited which means that we are pre-qualified to meet robust health and safety standards.
We’re also very proud to be MCS accredited. MCS is an organisation who set and keep up standards in the low-carbon technology industry. This kind of association with MCS means that we are deemed to have a significantly high enough quality of work that we are listed as an official installer.
Additional income
For homeowners, an added bonus of choosing to use solar panels is being able to sell solar energy to people who rent their property in the future. We can help with solar power purchase agreements (PPAs) for both home and business owners which will result in extra earnings for landlords and cheaper, cleaner energy for those who rent the property.
After solar panel installation
Our input doesn’t stop after we’ve installed each commercial solar panel system. We offer further services to homeowners such as panel cleans, services, system monitoring, metre reading, PPA invoicing (for homeowners with tenants) and more.
All of our installs come with a 10-year warranty and 25-year performance guarantee. However with additional services such as the above, each system’s performance can last even longer.
Our team
Our entire team has specialist training to make sure that every part of your project is completed safely and securely, to the highest possible standard.
Our team consists of electrical engineers, electricians, surveyors and roofers who are all insured, highly qualified and vastly experienced. We have a highly committed, regular team of professionals who are one of our greatest strengths. Plus, we never sub-contract.
Customer service
Customer service is central to everything we do at Atlantic Renewables. Our team is not only incredibly skilled at what they do, but a pleasure to work with.
From start to finish, we pride ourselves on the quality of the service we give to each and every single client. If you need anything at all, our team will be very happy to assist.
Getting in touch
At Atlantic Renewables, we’re passionate about helping others help the environment. The impact each household has on the planet is huge. Thankfully, with continuous research coming to light around the topic of global warming every year, more people are trying to make an effort to reduce their carbon footprint by switching to renewable (specifically solar) energy.
Our solar energy services use the most advanced technology on the market and are extremely affordable. As mentioned above, they also come with a 25-year performance guarantee. If you’re an M&E Consultant running a project that requires solar energy, get in touch with us today for a free, no obligation quote.
Unlike other commercial solar companies, we have strictly ‘no pressure’ sales tactics. Meaning if you’re just calling with a few questions, our staff will help educate you without pressuring you into a sale. We’re an open, honest team and we’d love to hear from you.
In 2019, we saw more renewable energy generated than any other source (40% of the UK’s electricity share). However, there is still work to be done.
