Hathersage Rd 12.5kw Solar Installation
Atlantic Renewables completed a 12.5kw install which consisted of 50 x Risen 250w Polycrystalline panels and 1 x 10kw Solis Inverter.
Atlantic Renewables were chosen for this project due to our experience designing systems with very specific site challenges. The Solar Panels were mounted on the flat rubber roof of a new student complex in Manchester. The main site constraint was the need for a lightweight system due to the structural weight loading limitations of the building.
The normal method for installing solar panels on a flat roof using a ballast weighted mounting system was not possible due to these weight limitations. Atlantic Renewables were able to propose the use of a waterproof fixing system which fixed into the lower roof substrate.
The fixing and waterproofing system used was a bespoke system using specialised IFP feet that screw straight into the roof. The solar pv system was then mounted using a proprietary mounting frame system supplied by Sun Fixings. A full weight and wind-loading calculation was then provided, providing the client a full 10 year guarantee and peace of mind.
